Project to Improve Forth Road Bridge Car Park

Published on 16 Apr 2010

A project to improve safety and amenity at the Forth Road Bridge car park got under way this week.

Contractor Raynesway are constructing improved fencing, lighting, landscaping, footpaths and a new disabled access ramp.

As well as serving the bridge administration office, the car park is a popular destination for visitors to the adjacent viewpoint overlooking the Forth bridges. Local children also pass through on their way to and from school, and the improvements are designed to improve the safety of pedestrians by separating them from traffic.

Users of the car park are advised to take extra care while work is in progress and to be aware of temporary signing and construction traffic.

Work is expected to continue through the summer months.
