Forth Road Bridge Convener Phil Wheeler today congratulated Chief Engineer & Bridgemaster Barry Colford on his recent award of the prestigious Telford Prize from the Institution of Civil Engineers, for a technical paper on bridge engineering.
Councillor Wheeler said: “I’m delighted for Barry that his work has been recognised in this way. This is a fair reflection of the quality and innovation of the engineering work currently under way at the Forth Road Bridge.”
The Telford Prize was instituted in 1835 following a bequest made by Thomas Telford, the Institution of Civil Engineer’s first President. Up to four awards are made each year.
