This work involves the replacement of the two aerial platforms located on each of the two suspended span underdeck access gantries and ancillary modifications to steelwork.
The existing aerial platforms were supplied with the gantries in 1996 and have been used extensively in a hostile environment. A study carried out showed that they had reached the end of their economic life and should be replaced.
The work is progressing well and is expected to be completed by August 2010.
