Welcome to FRB123, the new traffic information system for the Forth Road Bridge.
You can specify exactly which lengths of delay you wish to be alerted about. You can even specify the days of the week and the times of day you want to receive texts or emails, so you won’t be sent or charged for any information you don’t need.
Registered users can also access the live streaming webcam at forthroadbridge.org.
Registration is FREE – you only pay for the alerts you choose to receive:
- Texts are pre-purchased in bundles of 10 or 50, costing as little as 20p each. You’ll be notified when your account is running low so that you can top it up before you run out.
- One month of unlimited, fully customisable email alerts costs £2.50.
- Registered users can also purchase discounted minutes for the FRB123 bridge traffic phone service.
Example 1:
Dave Anderson is a commuter who uses the bridge every weekday to get to work in Edinburgh. He only needs to know about delays at the times he regularly travels, so he sets up text alerts for delays of more than 20 minutes on the M90 Southbound between 06:00 and 10:00 and for delays of more than 20 minutes on the A90 northbound between 16:00 and 19:00.
Example 2:
Jean Macdonald lives in Newbridge and travels to visit her mother in Kirkcaldy every Tuesday and Saturday lunchtime. She needs to be able to warn her mother if she’ll be late, so she sets up text alerts for delays of more than 10 minutes between 10:00 and 16:00 on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Example 3:
Billy Mackay runs a haulage business from Fife. His fleet controller needs to know as soon as there are any problems on the bridge. Billy sets up unlimited email alerts, automatically renewing each month.
